BMW recently announced an incredible milestone, as seven million American-made BMW cars have officially left the assembly line. It’s a testament to the company’s commitment to its South Carolina factory and its long history of American manufacturing. Courtesy of BMW of Fort Washington, here are all the details you need to know about this milestone.

Seven Million Cars and Counting

It all started with a BMW ALPINA XB7 leaving the assembly line in South Carolina. This BMW model was the seven millionth to be manufactured in the United States, officially making it off the assembly line on April 30th. That gives it a special aura already, but its incredible features, like the Panoramic Sky Lounge® LED Roof and ALPINA Walnut Nature Black trim, give it an elegance above its illustrious model designation.

BMW Manufacturing in America

In recognition of its unique status, this specific BMW ALPINA XB7 won’t be leaving its home assembly plant. That plant is BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC, headquartered in Greer, South Carolina. It opened in 1992 and had manufactured one million BMW cars by February 2006. Production has steadily increased since then, and this latest milestone car will remain at the factory to honor its importance in American manufacturing.

What American-Made BMW Cars Are Available?

Numerous BMW models are manufactured at the South Carolina plant, with both SUVs and sedans assembled there. The American-made BMW cars currently on offer include, but are not limited to:

  • BMW X3
  • BMW X4
  • BMW X5
  • BMW XM
  • BMW 3 Series
  • BMW Z4
