BMW is launching a new vehicle that’s a first for the company: an all-electric compact SUV. Get the details on the BMW iX below!

Power and Drivetrain

The base BMW iX is the xDrive50, which has two electric motors that combine to produce 516 horsepower. The M60 also comes with two electric motors, but its horsepower increases to 600. All-wheel drive is standard, but rear-wheel drive is available.

Driving Range and Charging Time

The BMW iX comes with a 106.3-kWh battery pack that – according to BMW – will let you go up to 300 miles when fully charged. With a 200-kW connection, the BMW iX can go from a 10-percent charge all the way up to 80 percent in only 35 minutes.

The BMW next-generation infotainment system – the iDrive 8 – comes standard in the BMW iX. It includes a huge 14.9-inch display, a voice-activated assistant, Android Auto™, and Apple CarPlay®. An 18-speaker Harman Kardon stereo is also standard. Available features include a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and a 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

The BMW iX has some of the most advanced safety components equipped, such as lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. You’ll also be able to opt for a semi-autonomous driving mode and adaptive cruise control.

Want to Reserve the BMW iX?

While the new BMW iX won’t be available until the spring, you don’t have to wait that long to reserve a model. Right now, you can pre-order your vehicle, which lets you put a deposit down so you won’t miss out when it arrives in our showroom.
