Maintaining the great health of your BMW doesn’t have to be difficult. You just have to keep in mind the vital BMW maintenance tasks that are required for proper BMW ownership.
Oil Changes
Do you know what oil does exactly? For one thing, oil keeps dirt and particles out of the engine, which improves its performance and prevents damage. Oil also keeps the moving engine parts lubricated so they don’t rub against each other and create harmful friction. When oil gets old, it becomes dirty. It also gets thicker, so it can’t provide optimal lubrication. This is why oil needs to be changed at least two times per year, really regardless of the miles you drive.
Tire Rotations
You know that your BMW has excellent handling. And while a lot of that has to do with its steering and drivetrain, the tires also play a big role. This is why they need to be rotated regularly. This allows them to wear down evenly, improving how they perform out on the road. The added bonus is that it extends their lifespan. Your owner's manual spells out how often your tires need to be rotated.
Tune-Ups
Unlike the other two items on this list, tune-ups aren’t something that you typically need to get every year. The general recommendation is every other year or every 25,000 miles. With a tune-up, things like spark plugs, belts, and hoses all get a thorough inspection. This ensures that all connections are good and that everything is operating as it should. This also lets technicians be proactive about replacements.
