For years now, the BMW 3 Series has been a top luxury sedan, and every new model just seems to get better. The 2023 version has been redesigned, and this guide goes over what to expect.

Power and Drivetrain

The base engine in the BMW 3 Series is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that offers 255 horsepower and 294 lb-ft of torque. There are also several other powertrains to choose from:

  • Turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder: 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque
  • Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor: 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque
  • Twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder: 473 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque
  • Twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder: 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque

All engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but the M3 trim comes with a six-speed manual. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive as an option. With the M Sport package, you get 19-inch wheels, variable sport steering, and an M Sport suspension or an adaptive M suspension with electronic damping.

Interior

The BMW 3 Series has a striking cabin that now boasts a curved display that combines a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. This includes the cloud-based BMW navigation system, as well as the Intelligent Personal Assistant that will respond to voice commands. Other standard features include:
