BMW i4 charging by the ocean.jpgWhen it comes to luxury features and comfort amenities, BMW vehicles never fail to deliver. These cars can also be counted on for fuel efficiency, especially if you opt for an all-electric model like the 2023 BMW i4. Here we go over its highlights.

Power

There are three powertrains to pick from with the BMW i4. The base is in the eDrive35 trim, and it comes with an electric motor and a 70.2-kWh battery pack that combine to produce 281 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

The eDrive40 trim has an electric motor and an 81-kWh battery pack that offer 335 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Finally, there’s the M50 trim, which has two electric motors and an 81-kWh battery pack that work together to generate 536 horsepower and 586 lb-ft of torque. A single-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. Rear-wheel drive is also standard, with all-wheel drive as an option.

MPGe

For its class, the BMW i4 has excellent fuel efficiency. The eDrive40 trim offers an EPA-estimated 109 MPGe (electric miles per gallon equivalent) in the city and 108 MPG on the highway. With the M50 model, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 94/98 MPGe city/highway.

Driving Range and Charging Time

When the battery is fully charged, you will be able to travel up to an EPA-estimated 301 miles in your BMW i4. If you have access to a 240-volt outlet, the battery can fully charge within eight to ten hours. DC fast charging will get you up to 200 miles of range in only 30 minutes.
