Eyes were on several new BMW models at Monterey Car Week 2026, unveiling concept models and several updates to classic lines. The BMW M® Concept Neue Klasse and Vision BMW ALPINA designs debuted to the public, and the company also detailed celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the BMW M3. BMW of Fort Washington has the highlights of the many exciting reveals from this event.
BMW M® Concept Neue Klasse
Two new concepts were present at the BMW showcase at Monterey, starting with the BMW M® Concept Neue Klasse. The design promises to revolutionize performance with quad electric motors and a new Heart of Joy “superbrain” that keeps handling tight and responsive even in intense situations. Its tech suite will be applied to BMW M® models in the future, delivering precise vehicle control and better driving dynamics.
Vision BMW ALPINA
Another model debuted at Monterey was the Vision BMW ALPINA, reviving the company as a brand under the BMW marque. The new version combines elegant design elements and sharp details in a luxury coupe, coupled with a sophisticated interior experience. Production vehicles for this line are expected to arrive in 2027.
BMW M3 Celebration
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the BMW M3, and Monterey visitors had the chance to revisit moments in its long history. Vehicles from all six generations of its 40-year lifespan were present at the Legends of the Autobahn®, from the first generation all the way to current models. BMW also honored its racing legacy by displaying winning BMW M3 models, including the 1997 BMW E36 M3 GT2, which won the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
